Rain Forest




In an average year a tropical rain forest, the climate is very humid because of all the rainfall, which amounts to about 250 cm per year. The rain forest has lots of rain because it is very hot and wet. This climate is found near the equator.
The average temperature of a rain forest is about 77° F. The rain forest is about the same temperature year round.
Even though the Jambu Fruit Dove isn't endangered, they are listed as threatened. They can still be found in Borneo and Sumatra, but are now rare on West Java.
The Toco Toucan is the biggest of the toucans. It can get to about twenty-four to twenty six inches in length.
There are many special adaptations for Orangutan in the rainforest, such as long, strong arms for traveling among the trees, curved feet for extra balance when standing on branches and opposable thumbs for grabbing branches.

The Kinkajo hides in the holes of the trees during the day napping. This a cute little animal with the body grows from 16 to 30 inches; its tail grows from 15 to 33 inches. Its shoulder height is up to 10 inches and it weights 3 to 10 pounds.The Wagler's pit viper lives in trees of the Southeast Asian rainforest.
People associate the coconut palm with relaxation and shade looking out over the sea to the horizon, they are grown to be 50-80 ft high.
Tualang Asian rainforests are best know for the disk shaped honeycombs which hang from its horizontal branches.
Kapok Tree can grow to a height of 150 ft or more, towering over other trees in the rainforest.
